PROVIDING SPECIAL DREAMS
Project Angel Fares is a 501c3 nonprofit created in 2012 with the goal of “Providing Special Friends with Special Dreams”. Project Angel Fares serves families who have a child with a disability or special needs and otherwise would not be able to afford the opportunity to visit San Antonio, Morgan’s Wonderland & Inspiration Island with a 4 day, 3 night trip of a lifetime, with paid travel expenses.
Inspired after watching an episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, my wife and I were moved by a story of a young man Jake Grys. Born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease) and dwarfism. It was at that moment that Jake touched our hearts forever.
We shared our idea with Gordon Hartman, Founder of Morgan’s Wonderland & Inspiration Island, and encouraged by him and others, Project Angel Fares was formed.
We were proud to have the Grys family as our first family to visit. Despite his life-threatening disease and the fact that he continues to break bones monthly, this now young adult is a remarkable man! (See Jakes graduation photo below.)
Eight years and over 90 families later, we continue to make this visit to San Antonio a memory that will last a lifetime for these very special families.
